What did Multiplexes do to Telugu Cinema?

The cinema exhibition industry in India is growing at 10% per annum driven by multiplexes, which are expanding rapidly in major metropolitan cities as well as second and third tier cities. Favorable demographics in a cinema-crazy nation, tax exemptions, and quality locations such as malls, are driving growth of multiplexes in India. All iz well; until I realized what I have lost by encouraging these multiplexes. Let's see the cinematic experience in new age cinema has changed to:
A Very well maintained seats and ambience is the major driving force to these multiplexes. Interesting food courts, very well addressed technical equipment in the multiplexes make me happy to get into the theatre to watch the film. When everything sounds awesome what am I criticizing about? What did I eventually with the advent of multiplexes?
Fun, Entertainment, I always had while watching a movie is what I lost . These days I am not enjoying the movie as I always used to. For a normal Telugu or south Indian guy, a movie is much more than a mere entertainment. For years, I have enjoyed the movie in a normal theatre in a very different way. I and fellow patrons used to happily get engaged while watching a movie. We used to scream, laugh and cry and walk out of the theatre discussing the subject. Now, with these multiplexes and more matured crowd coming in (who most of the time control their emotions for the sake), I am watching a movie like a dumb ass, and I am loosing it all. I am not able to enjoy the movie; I have turned to be a silent spectator of an awesome emotional depiction (Telugu Cinema in general).
Do I need to loose all the entertainment by paying more? I am not sure what is good for the Telugu cinema but definitely multiplexes in the name of making it better took all the entertainment I have :(

pls dont go to multiplex
Ashwin Nallari :
Views expressed by Karthik are poignant and has a point.Having worked in the exhibition sector I would like to share with my friends few points to broaden the horizon of their exposure.Multiplexes are only an outlet, supposed to provide \'quality\' viewing experience at an added cost.Except for Prasadz rest of them really do not qualify themselves to be called as QUALITY multiplexes. Here Govt can intervene by making real time online ticket reservations such that eliminating BLACK MARKETEERS,can they is a big?.First most of these multiplexes charge a hefty sum,do not provide A.C for full show, charge a premium for parking and do not give any shelter,90% of them[Multiplexes, single screen, RTC X roads is notorious] steal your petrol and that\'s why most of the anti social elements control parking lots. The GHMC or local body should take over parking and canteens,Prices in canteens are hefty and more than MRP which is a straight violation of law.Experiencing a movie whether at RTC X roads or multiplex is the choice of the viewer and his/her friends or family.Till date there has been only one theatre which gave QUALITY on all counts and it was SANGEET CINEMA in Secunderabad and even it has been bitten by the multiplex virus.Multiplex gives the viewer an option to view different types of movies whereas Telugu cinema is concerned , 90% of them are \"thoda kottuudu cinemas\" ,so we can\'t blame the outlet , as audiences we should go beyond stardom, caste feelings, area feelings and watch quality movies at all times. This comes from quality education, culture and parents taking active interest to develop quality audio visual mindset in the young fresh minds.
Thank you

My Dear Konda, :)
a) May U pl. understand clearly that Govt. must intervene in matters much more important than Ticket cost at Multiplexes. Prices of rice, wheat, sugar, onions n other vegetables, petrol n fuel r more pressing problems bcz. if U don't want to pay Rs.150/- on multiplexes, U hv other cheaper options, and if still U can't afford then U shall be most welcome to refrain from watching. U won't perish.
b) I agree absolutely with Mohana n Gayatri abt the quality of Cinema halls. Further may I add, U can pay a little more if U want a good ambience.
NandNis :
Dear Kartik n many others who like the way movies were watched by U LOT n those like U, can please continue to do so in a crude, rude n the same filthy way, screaming, crying out loud, n having fun in Ur own way. Plz don't come to multiplexes. They r neither meant for U nor for Ur favorite village type filthy actors, their comedy n un-realistic fake (THODA KOTTU) heroism.
