Filmmakers need hits, not awards: Chiru

The Praja Rajyam president and actor-turned-politician, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, said on Monday that it was box office collections that mattered for filmmakers and not awards.
He said this while reacting to reports that his son Ram Charan Teja was tipped to win the best actor Nandi award but was upstaged by veteran director actor Dasari Narayana Rao.
Talking to mediapersons on his return from the United States, the Praja Rajyam chief said his party had no objection to Dasari bagging the Nandi award.
