Censor refuses to clear T-film

The Central Board for Film Certification has refused to clear Jai Bolo Telangana, a high profile film on the Telangana agitation, apparently because it contains some sarcastic remarks against the Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, and several Seema-Andhra leaders. Sources said that one of the four members of the Censor Board raised objections to the comments against Mrs Gandhi. With the Censor Board members differing on giving certification, the film been referred to a revising committee which will view it again. Besides actor Jagapathi Babu, the film also has cameos by political stars including the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana JAC chairman, Prof. Kodandaram, and other T-leaders. The director of the film, Mr N. Shanker, held discussions with the Censor Board members but refused to accept their instructions to delete some scenes.

Don't post rude or nasty comments. Ethnic slurs, personal insults and abuses are rather uncool. Criticise, but know where to draw the line. No point putting in personal details or links, we won't publish them. |
