Track damaged between Singarayakonda and Ulavapadu
Running of several long distance trains was delayed by about three to five hours on Tuesday as one of the two railway lines was damaged between Singarayakonda and Ulavapadu in Prakasam district as incessant rains caused havoc in Kandukur division, leaving one person dead.
Water entered SC Colony in Kandukur. Vehicular traffic between Atmakur and Kandukur was affected.Floodwaters overflowed the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway in both Singarayakonda and Vulavapadu mandals, affecting vehicular traffic.
Vulavapadu recorded a high rainfall of 28 cm. Trains which suffered delays included Chennai-bound G.T.Express from New Delhi, Chennai-bound Charminar express from Hyderabad.
