Giving a major relief to teacher aspirants, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday, quashed a petition filed by 69 B.Ed candidates challenging the DSC-2008 notification & the orders of AP Administrative Tribunal passed in favour of D Ed candidates providing 30% posts to them. Disposing the petition as not valid at this juncture, the court directed the State government to start counseling for selected teacher candidates from today.

Following the court's directions, the government released the selected candidates' lists from all districts in the State except Anantapur. Several B.Ed candidates on Monday, approached High Court seeking suspension of GO no. 62 issued on October 29th, which provided reservation for 30% secondary grade teacher posts for candidates with D Ed qualification, and sought direction to government to stop the recruitment processes.
