Under the influence of the low pressure in Bay of Bengal, 3 days of incessant rains played havoc in the border district of Chittoor. The vigorous Northeast monsoon inundated several low-lying areas in the region. Reservoirs and irrigation tanks, in the southern parts of the district, received good inflows.

In the meantime, The cloudburst activity killed three lives at Adavikothuru near Nagari which is 60 km from AP & Tamil Nadu border. The tragedy took place when their rain-soaked hut collapsed, killing 50 years old Rajamma on spot and her two grandchildren. This takes the death toll in the district to five.
