Naidu visits garbage dumping yard at Jawaharnagar

Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday had first hand feel of the most unhygienic conditions and severe stench when he visited the garbage dumping yard at Jawaharnagar near Medchal in the city. Naidu saw for himself the huge mounds of garbage piled up in a sprawling open area on the concluding day of his three-day tour of Ranga Reddy district.
Talking to media persons at the site, he criticised the State government for closing all garbage dumping yards around the city and centralising the work. TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu interacted with beneficiaries of low cost housing programme under Rajiv Swagruha at a distance. He blamed the inferior quality of houses which left 4,000 of the 5,000 units unoccupied.
Earlier, he also spoke to family members of those who committed suicide allegedly due to harassment by micro-finance institutions. He offered to assist a couple of families on behalf of NTR memorial trust. The TDP president said 2 crore population in the State fell into the trap of MFIs due to lack of proper planning by government.
He demanded bank loans to poor at three per cent interest like it was done for various sections of people. He also unveiled a statue of NTR at Jawaharnagar where a couple of youths shouting Jai Telangana' slogans attracted attention after his speech. He said the TRS would not achieve anything by organising such demonstrations.
