The Congress has hit out at Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu for his attempts to politicise the flood relief works in coastal Andhra districts. At a press conference on Sunday, Ministers N. Raghuveera Reddy and Vatti Vasant Kumar and MLCs R. Padmaraju and Gidugu Rudraraju accused Mr. Naidu of making allegations against the government out of frustration.

Taking serious exception to his remarks about flood relief, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said the Telgu Desam Party chief was trying to demoralise the officials and administration that was working overtime to provide relief to the affected people.

The Agriculture Minister said if Mr. Naidu was so concerned about the plight of the victims, he should extend his cooperation to the government in providing adequate relief. He took a dig at the TDP chief for his claims that his government then had done more than the present Congress regime under Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.
