College Fee Case to be Referred to Third Judge

The issue of validity of the State government in insisting on separate fee structure on convenor and management quotas in private professional colleges will now be referred to a third judge of the High Court as the two judges who heard the matter differed with each other on the issue of granting interim orders. A Division Bench comprising Justice A. Gopal Reddy and Justice K.C. Bhanu directed the Election Commission to inform the court whether the recognised political parties have been filing their income tax returns. The Bench was dealing with a public interest litigation filed by Narayana Swamy from Anantapur.
