* Gas for Karimnagar project on EGoM agenda
The State's plea to the Union Government to allot gas for AP Genco's proposed 2,100-MW gas-based project at Nedunur near Karimnagar has now been included in the agenda of the Centre's Empowered Group of Ministers on gas allocation for consideration at its meeting on November 9. This follows a request by Chief Minister K. Rosaiah to Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas Murli Deora in a letter.
Mr. Rosaiah told reporters in the city on Monday that he had sought allocation of 9 million metric standard cubic metres per day of gas from the Krishna-Godavari basin reserves of Reliance Industries Limited. He found no logic in supplying gas to other States from K-G basin without first meeting the requirements of A.P.
