Praja Rajyam Party president K. Chiranjeevi undertook a day-long extensive tour of the rain-hit areas of Krishna district on Tuesday when he demanded that the Government initiate all possible measures to help the farmers overcome their problems arising out of crop losses in the heavy rains and increasing debts.

Mr. Chiranjeevi arrived from Bhimavaram in West Godavari district and started his tour from Losara Bridge in Kruthivennu mandal. During his tour, he addressed farmers, weavers and fishermen at various places in Pedana, Gudivada and Machilipatnam mandals. Alleging that the Government had not done enough to the farmers in their hour of need, Mr. Chiranjeevi said financial assistance and other possible help should be given to them and additional steps should be taken to help the tenant farmers overcome huge losses caused by heavy rains.
