* Demanding solution to beedi workers' problems,
* leaders try to gatecrash into Collectorate

Mild tension prevailed in front of the Collectorate here on Tuesday when TRS leaders and women activists, who staged a dharna demanding that the State government solve the beedi workers problems, tried to gatecrash into the premises and manhandled some women police who obstructed their entry.

But the police obstructed their entry and in the melee, the women activists were engaged in a verbal duel with the women police constables and home guards. Some others thrashed a woman constable for obstructing their entry. As there was inadequate women police personnel, the women activists took advantage of the situation, while the male police force remained mute spectators.
