Slamming the State government for its alleged failure in taking up rescue and relief works in the cyclone-affected districts, Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi, demanded action against the officials' lax attitude in providing relief to victims.

The party chief met Chief Minister Rosaiah, on Thursday, & discussed on the ongoing rescue and relief works in the recent rain hit areas. The actor-turned-politician demanded the officials estimate crop loss properly, and pay compensation to the victims immediately.

Chiranjeevi said that the flood victims issue should not be politicized, and should be treated on humanitarian grounds. At the same time he felt the need to streamline the drainage system to facilitate free flow of water and provide relief to the affected farmers.
