Manmohan Singh seeks better trade ties with Ethiopia

Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has expressed a desire for India and Ethiopia to strengthen their bilateral trade and investment ties. Dr. Singh conveyed this message during a meeting with his Ethiopian counterpart Meles Zenawi on the sidelines of G-20 Summit in South Korean Capital Seoul.
Dr Singh said there were developmental imbalances between both countries rebalancing of the world economy was a major challenge. Warning against 'protectionist tendencies, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh emphasised on the need for an open, stable and rule-based international economic environment.
In a departure statement before leaving for Seoul, the Prime Minister noted that whether in the field of trade, investment flows, technology transfer or open market, it was in Indias interest to have such an international economic environment.
