Students took out rallies on Osmania University campus on Friday, angered over remarks reportedly made by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrashekhara Rao that he would strengthen Congress party. A group of Telangana Students Joint Action Committee, led by M. Bhaskar and Ravi, threw eggs on an effigy of KCR before burning it in front of Arts College accusing him of attempting to sabotage Telangana cause by making pro-Congress party comments.

Another batch of students belonging to TSJAC-Swtantra went in a procession from Arts College to NCC gate and burnt another effigy.All the protestors condemned KCR's alleged remarks observing that such statements were aimed at weakening separate Telangana State agitation. Meanwhile, eight students of O.U. began fast unto death in the cellar of the Arts College urging the Government to postpone the recruitment test of police Sub-Inspectors till the issue pertaining to free zone was finalised.
