Congress to mark 125th year fete

* Rosaiah to flag off tiranga march' on November 16; tree plantation State-wide
* Former Congress Chief Ministers and PCC chiefs to be honoured
* Vintage car rally to include one in which Nehru and Gandhi travelled
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee has made elaborate arrangements for the six-day concluding celebrations of the 125th year of Indian National Congress beginning Sunday. AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh will kick off the celebrations in which Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy and APCC president D. Srinivas will participate.
To mark the occasion, former Congress Chief Ministers, PCC presidents and eminent persons from various fields will be honoured. Mr. Srinivas was non committal when asked whether the party would also felicitate families of former Chief Ministers and PCC chiefs, who had died.
On November 15, massive tree plantation is planned all over the State. A vintage car rally, including a car in which Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi travelled, would also be taken out.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, Mr. Srinivas said a tiranga march' would be flagged off by the Chief Minister and himself from Nehru's statue in Abids to Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road on November 16.
