Naidu seeks gas to Genco on priority basis

Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged the Central government to ensure allocation of gas on priority basis to AP Power Generation Corporation for operating the 2,100 MW gas-based power plant at Nedunuru in Karimnagar district during the current plan period.
In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Mr. Naidu expressed concern that the scheduled meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers on November 9 was postponed disappointing the people of the State.
This was in the backdrop of reports that the EGoM evaded reply when asked about allocation of 9.72 MMSCMD of gas required for Nedunuru plant claiming that the issue would be looked into in the XII Plan period. If true, this will be a great set back for the future power needs of the State, the Telugu Desam party chief said.
