Naidu non-committal on Telangana
Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday remained non-committal on whether the party would present a joint memorandum to the Srikrishna Committee in favour of separate Telangana. Asked to comment on such a demand voiced by party's Telangana MLAs meeting on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu avoided a direct response. At a press conference, he said the party was formed for welfare of all Telugus irrespective of the regions they belonged and it would continue to work towards that goal, though it had unparalleled record of developing Telangana region. The present problem relating to the demand for separate Telangana was the creation of Congress and it was for that party to address it, he added.
