Chief Minister launches Bala Kendra'

School-going children now have another incentive to attend classes. Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, on Children's Day, launched a health programme exclusively targeted at students of government and government-aided schools.
The programme, Jawahar Bala Arogya Raksha is estimated to reach out to 85, 32,635 children across the State initially. It will slowly expand to other children. As part of the programme, every child in the age group of five to 15 years will be issued a unique health and education record that will document both educational as well as health particulars of a student.
According to Health Minister Danam Nagender, about 10 per cent of dropouts quit owing to ill health. The programme was launched at AP Social Welfare Residential School for Girls in Ranga Reddy district.
