invokes Nehru Statue to signify the indifferent attitude of the Govt. to Telangana.

In a show of sarcasm, protesting Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana Agitation Committee on Sunday, garlanded the statue of first prime minister of Independent India, Jawahar Lal Nehru, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, at the Abids centre.

Later, the party leaders submitted a memorandum to Nehru statue to signify the indifferent attitude of the government towards Telangana. The symbolic protest was aimed at invoking Nehru to act against the unmoved attitude of central and state Government over the formation of separate state.

The protestors then raised slogans against the central and state governments, and staged a dharna in front of the statue. They then formed a human chain throwing the traffic out of gear. The activists demanded the introduction of a bill on separate Telangana state in the winter session of Parliament to carve out a separate state from united Andhra Pradesh.
