Put the process on hold, say Opposition parties

The State government will announce its decision on the conduct of written examination and other process for selection of sub-inspectors and reserve sub-inspectors in the Zone VI on Wednesday.

An all-party meeting convened by Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy on Tuesday to find an amicable solution to the controversy surrounding the recruitment ended inconclusively.

The Opposition parties firmly demanded that the government put the process on hold pending deletion of Clause 14 (f) of Presidential Order declaring Hyderabad as free zone for police recruitment and including it in Zone VI, but the Home Minister declined to give any assurance.

Briefing reporters later, Ms. Sabita, along with Home Secretary P. Gautam Kumar and DGP K. Aravinda Rao, said a final decision on conducting the examination would be taken after consulting Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, who is away on a tour.
