Rosaiah promises steps to expedite survey

Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has promised to take steps to expedite a survey on socio-economic backwardness of Kapu, Telaga, Balija and Ontari communities for inclusion in backward classes list.
Addressing the golden jubilee celebrations of the association representing these communities here on Saturday, Mr. Rosaiah said a scientific study was required to consider their backwardness which obviously took time.
However, he said he would try and get the study expedited. The Chief Minister said he found nothing wrong with caste organisations as they could work for the welfare of poor members.
In fact, they could supplement the poverty alleviation programmes of the government. The organisations could come to the aid of their members who do not get government assistance.
