The Congress leaders on Sunday, strongly criticised the programme aired against AICC president Sonia Gandhi and demanded for immediate apology from the channel. The state minister for Health, Danam Nagender and IT Minister K. Venkat Reddy staged a sit-in at the statue of YSR near City Central, as a mark of protest against the programme.

On the occassion, Danam affirmed that, Gandhi was elected as Congress president in 1998 when the party was in decline. Under her dynamic leadership, the Congress party won and formed government at the national level twice in 2004 and 2009.

And added that, It was the great sacrifice on her part which no other political leader has so far done in this country. Meanwhile, The channel Saakshi on 19th & 20th of this month, reportedly aired a programme criticising Sonia's leadership as a failure and PM as her rubber stamp.
