BJP flays Rosaiah for ignoring Ex-Gratia
BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday criticised Chief Minister K. Rosaiah for ignoring the plea to extend ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh each to the families of those killed in communal riots in the Old City of Hyderabad earlier this year. Mr. Kishan Reddy lamented that when he had met the Chief Minister along with the family of three deceased riot victims, the latter had refused to consider the plea of Rs. 5 lakh ex gratia. Instead, he said a sum of Rs. 50,000 under Apathbandhu could be paid to them, he said. Quoting two GOs issued by the then Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy in 2007 and 2008, the BJP chief said the victims of communal riots in Bhainsa in Adilabad district and terror attack at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat were given Rs. 5 lakh each.
