Chief Minister K Rosaiah will lay the foundation stone for construction of an anicut across the Wyra River at Jalimudi village in Madhira mandal in the district on August 6. The anicut has been proposed across the river at an estimated cost of Rs. 29.38 crores to irrigate about 4,900 acres spread in 18 villages in Madhira and Bonakallu mandals. According to the official itinerary, the Chief Minister will address a public meeting after the stone-laying ceremony of Jalimudi project at Siripuram village in Madhira mandal at 3 p.m. on Friday.
