Condemning the attacks on Sakshi offices across the state following the 'adverse' reports by the television channel against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, journalists in the state affiliated to various unions staged a dharna in front of the Jawaharlal Nehru statue at Abids Centre.

Raising slogans against the Congress members for attacking the offices of Sakshi, the journalists - affiliated to the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists Federation, Hyderabad Union of Journalists and Andhra Pradesh Electronic Journalists Association - staged a dharna, demanding the arrest of leaders responsible for the attacks. The Journalist stated that the political parties should not link politics with journalism.
