Former Speaker Kiran Reddy sworn in as new Andhra CM

Former Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Kiran Kumar Reddy was sworn in as the new chief minister of the state shortly after noon on Thursday, a day after K Rosaiah resigned form the post following a year old battle with detractors, including Jaganmohan Reddy.
In a move to set its house in order before the Srikrishna Committee submits its report on the contentious issue of statehood for Telangana, the Congress on Wednesday effected a change of leadership in Andhra Pradesh, replacing chief minister K Rosaiah with Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy.
