Kadapa MLC and YSR's brother Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy has decided to accept a Cabinet berth in the Kiran Kumar Reddy government in order to be in touch with the powers that be, despite being targeted by Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's followers that he precipitated matters.

As the Congress high command cleared the decks for Mr. Vivekananda Reddy's induction into the State Cabinet, after his intense lobbying in Delhi, the MLC took the decision with a view to ensuring that YSR's detractors in the party do not steal the limelight, according to the sources.

Mr. Reddy deliberated with his close aides and consulted his family members and they endorsed his claim for Ministry to avert YSR's critics from isolating the family and trying to pin it down in the wake of the resignation of Jagan and his mother and Pulivendula MLA Y.S. Vijayalakshmi.
