N. Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet
A 39 Ministers was sworn in at a simple ceremony on the lawns of Raj Bhavan, on Wednesday. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy constituted new Council of Ministers by dropping five ministers, including two loyalists of Jagan Mohan Reddy, whose uncle also got a cabinet berth.
Lets have detailed report! The Chief Minister gave representation in his team to 16 legislators from Telangana, 15 from Andhra and the remaining 8 from Rayalaseema region. He retained 27 members of the erstwhile Government, dropped five and brought in 11 new faces, many of them former Ministers.
Of the state's 23 districts, Adilabad is the only district that does not have representation in the cabinet. The prominent ministers who were retained include Dharmana Prasad Rao, Botsa Satyanarayana, Raghuveera Reddy, P. Lakshma Reddy, G. Aruna Kumari, S. Vijayrama Raju and J. Geeta Reddy. Mohammed Ahmedullah remains the lone Muslim minister in the cabinet.
Where as, Y.S.Vivekananda Reddy is the only minister from the legislative council. Now, Take a look at the district wise list of 39 New Cabinet Ministers. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday formed a 39-member council of ministers on the expected line, dropping five ministers.
The two loyalists of former Congess MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy-- Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose--, besides P R Reddy, a rival of Kiran Kumar, were dropped from the new set of ministers, who were administered the oath of office and secrecy by state Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhawan.
senior minister Gade Venkata Reddy was also among the five to have been ignored. He represents the state legislative council. Kiran dropped five ministers, who were members of the cabinets of YSR and Rosaiah.
The Chief Minister retained 28 ministers and brought 11 new faces, including Vivekananda Reddy. Among the 11 new faces in the council, seven are fresh to be ministers for the first time.
Senior leaders K Jana Reddy, D L Ravindra Reddy, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy and P Shankar Rao returned to the cabinet To lure Jagan loyalists, Kiran Kumar's government inducted Jagan's uncle Vivekananda Reddy, younger brother of late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy, into the cabinet.
He is the lone member from the state Legislative Council to be made a minister. Guntur district retained the top slot in the Cabinet with four berths, though with a single change. Hyderabad, Medak and Kadapa districts are next with three ministers each.
Adilabad district that has only one Congress MLA has been left with a blank in the Cabinet yet again. Now that the Cabinet formation is over, the Congress party will turn its attention to selection of its nominee for the post of Speaker rendered vacant by Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy's resignation and also choose the Pradesh Congress president.
