Kiran to revive Rachhabanda

The Kiran Kumar Reddy Government has resolved to revive Rachhabanda, a dream programme of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, which he could not implement, to redress the grievances of people on the spot.
The decision to re-launch the programme was taken by the new Cabinet on Thursday following a proposal by the Chief Minister. YSR wanted to undertake the exercise as he was anguished that the benefits of many schemes were not reaching the targeted sections.
Through Rachhabanda, he wanted to improve delivery system but was killed in a helicopter crash while proceeding to Chittoor district to launch the programme. Information & Public Relations Minister D. K. Aruna told reporters that the Cabinet adopted a resolution, placing on record its appreciation of the services rendered to the State by the previous Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.
