22 die of sun stroke

As many as 22 people lost their lives in different parts of Andhra Pradesh due to sun-stroke, even as there was no respite from heatwave conditions across the state with the mercury level hovering between 40 and 46 degrees Celsius. As per the reports sent from different districts (where sun-stroke deaths occurred yesterday) to Disaster Management Department here, 22 persons have died due to sun-stroke, and the toll, officials said may rise further as they were yet to receive reports on today's deaths.
"Till now, we have received information that 22 persons died due to sun-stroke. We are awaiting more details including deaths that occurred today," stated Disaster Management (Special Commissioner) K Surendra Mohan. Nine deaths were reported in Mahabubnagar district, four each in Medak, Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts while one sun-stroke death has been reported from Hyderabad, he said.
