* To take charge as Minister on Monday

Vatti Vasant Kumar will withdraw his resignation and take charge as a Minister on Monday, four Congress MLAs from West Godavari district announced after meeting him. The MLAs - T. Balaraju, A. K. Srinivas, M. Rajesh Kumar and M. Prasada Raju called on Mr. Vasant Kumar, who had tendered his resignation from the Council of Minister in protest against the lightweight portfolio given to him.

He was allocated the Tourism and Youth Services portfolio by the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. After their 45 minute-long meeting, the MLAs told reporters here that Mr. Vasant Kumar had responded positively to their plea to withdraw his resignation as Minister. They impressed upon him the need to take charge as the Minister as his services were needed for development of West Godavari district.
