The Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti headed by Manda Krishna Magida on Saturday organised a massive public meeting, Madiga upakulala Yuddha Bheri' to press its demand for categorisation of the Scheduled Castes.

Activists of the samiti from different parts of the State poured in to the Nizam College Grounds to lend support to the organisation's demand which has been supported by almost all parties, but the Centre is dilly-dallying' to bring in a Bill in the Lok Sabha to give effect to the recommendation of the Usha Mehra Commission's recommendation.

The meeting adopted a resolution urging Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to persuade the Centre to introduce and pass the Bill to pave the way for SC categorisation.
