Manda Krishna on indefinite fast again

Rejecting the Government's offer, Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi president Manda Krishna Madiga again launched his indefinite fast here insisting that the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, lead an all-party delegation to Delhi to press the demand for categorisation of Scheduled Castes. He said after his sit-in at Nizam College that the police had arrested him between 1 and 2 a.m. on Sunday and when he announced the launch of the indefinite fast, he was freed.
He criticised the police for its brutal lathicharge' on MRPS activists. Police said Mr. Krishna and many MRPS activists tried to move towards the Chief Minister's residence, but were dispersed. Cases were registered against him and several activists.On the other hand, the Government asserted that it was ready to send the delegation in pursuit of this important matter'.
