The Telangana Telugu Desam Party Forum has decided to observe December 23 as Telangana Betrayal Day, marking a year of the Centre's backtracking on formation of separate Telangana. The forum also planned to stage protests at martyrs' memorial in Gun Park in front of the Assembly and at Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Assembly premises on December 9. The forum further urged the State government to withdraw cases registered against students participating in Telangana agitation.

The meeting was convened to decide on the protest programmes on December 9 and 23, as Telangana Rashtra Samiti and Bharatiya Janata Party were also planning to hold protests on large scale. Talking to media persons later Mr. Janardhan Reddy alleged that State government was delaying the issue of deletion of Clause 14 (f) of paragraph 14 in the Presidential Order Andhra Pradesh Public Employment Order, 1975, as requested through the State Assembly's resolution on the free zone issue.
