Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that he was prepared to quit politics, having failed to do full justice to those who elected him. He would make an announcement to that effect soon. The main reason for considering retirement from politics is the non-cooperation from the Central Government in implementing development and welfare programmes. Addressing media persons who met him on Sunday, Mr. Rao said he was upset with attitude of the Government which became unresponsive to his efforts for developing his constituency and he could not secure funds. He was also incapable of getting things done and there was no point in continuing in politics. Asked whether he was not happy for not getting a berth in the Union Cabinet or in the State Council of Ministers for his brother, Mr. Rao refused to make a specific comment on that but said that some corrupt Ministers were continuing in the State Cabinet perhaps due to certain compulsions.
