The protest by Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLAs in the Assembly, demanding scrapping of cases against students who participated in the separate Telangana agitation, continued till late in the night, several hours after the House adjourned.

The MLAs confined themselves to the House even at 9 p.m. though the adjournment took place around 1 p.m. Senior party leaders Naini Narasimha Reddy, S. Madhusudhanachary and N. Laxman Rao tried to meet the legislators at nightfall but were prevented by the police. Then, the trio slept on the steps leading to the Assembly lobbies.

Meanwhile, the TRS cadre burnt effigies of Lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayan and staged protest demonstrations at various places outside resenting his opposition to lifting of cases. A candle light demonstration was also held at the Telangana martyrs memorial opposite Assembly.
