Jagan visits rain-hit villages in Guntur

Former Kadapa MP Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy has warned that the Government would have to count its days if the farmers, who incurred huge losses during the latest spell of heavy rains, revolted against it for being ignored.
No Government which neglects farmers' welfare will be able to survive, he observed. Addressing a large gathering of farmers and his supporters at Kanagala village in Cherukupalli mandal on Saturday, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy wondered what the Government was doing to alleviate the plight of farmers who were mired in crisis ever since the cyclones Laila and Jal damaged crops and said that it was not in the interest of State to leave farmers to their fate.
Mr. Jagan said that the tenant farmers were badly hit by rains and they too needed to be taken care of. Obtaining loans from banks was a formidable task for them. The Central Government has also not done much for farmers' welfare, he added.
