Sabita may offer sop to T-students
The Home Minister, P. Sabita Indra Reddy, is to make a statement in the Legislative Assembly on Monday announcing the withdrawal of cases registered against students who took part in pro- and anti-Telangana agitations.
Sources say around 300 non-serious cases of the total 1,694 cases will be withdrawn in the first phase. On his return from Delhi on Sunday, the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, had separate meetings with the home minister, the director-general of police, Mr Aravinda Rao, and intelligence chief, Mr K. Mahender Reddy.
The state Assembly could not transact any business on Friday and Saturday as Telangana Rashtra Samiti legislators stalled proceedings, demanding all cases against students be withdrawn immediately.
