The Bharathiya Janatha Party Senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, demanded that agriculture emergency be declared in State, in view of serious problems faced by farmers, due to natural calamities. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Mr.Naidu alleged that, Crop damage was unprecedented but the farmers welfare was clearly not on the Government's priority list.

The senior leader asserted that, the cyclones Laila and Jal dealt a major blow to the prospects of a good crop and Government's negligence compounded their woes.

Demanding the visit of Union Agricultural Minister in state, He asked the Government to pay adequate compensation to farmers. In the meanwhile, The MP appealed to the administration to take appropriate steps, so that Millers can buy moisture and discolored food grains.
