Torrential rains paralyse normal life
Torrential rains in the state on Friday caused extensive damage to crop and property but no loss of life was reported from any part of the district. Many villages were cut off due to streams and rivers in spate which also paralysed traffic movement on important roads. The Wankidi river was in flood submerging the low level causeway at Wankidi in Neredigonda mandal only to affect movement of heavy vehicles on the NH-7. Flow of traffic remained suspended for most part of the day. Several other roads and bridges located in the interior part of the district were also damaged. Traffic was suspended on the Utnoor-Jannaram road as a bridge was damaged on this road in the afternoon.
