Former MP Jitendar Reddy resigns TDP
Dealing a blow to main opposition party TDP in the Telangana region, former MP Jitendar reddy has resigned from the primary membership of the party and is set to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Reddy who was representing Palamooru region, dashed off a letter to party president Chandrababu Naidu, citing that he was quitting the party, unsatisfied by the dual policies of Mr.Naidu, on statehood issue.
In the meantime, He stated that, he would join TRS at the massive public meeting witnessed by KCR, in Mahbubnagar district, which was scheduled to be held on 22nd of this month. Mr.Reddy revealed that several TDP members from Palamooru, have also decided to merge in Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
However, His resignation triggered speculation that more seniors, unhappy with the party's stand on Telangana, would go his way. But several seniors ruled out such a possibility saying neither there was any dramatic change in the political situation, nor Assembly elections in near future to warrant such action. Most of them would prefer to adopt wait and watch policy. .
