Two lakhs likely to take part in the fast, says Ambati
All arrangements for former Kadapa M.P. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy staging a fast for 48 hours along with one-lakh farmers and handloom workers have been completed, said suspended PCC general secretary Ambati Rambabu.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday Rambabu said though one lakh farmers and handloom workers were initially expected to participate in the fast along with Mr Jagan the number of people who would go on fast was likely to touch two lakhs, he said.
There was place for 1.75 lakh people at the venue on the bed of the Krishna river. The area where the farmers and handloom workers would fast would be cordoned off by a barricade so that people do not accidentally fall into the river, he said.
Shamiyanas would also be erected to offer those on fast shelter from the sun, but the nights would become very cold and they should therefore get warm clothing and blankets to cover themselves, he said in an appeal.
