Telugu Desam seeks Governor's intervention

The Telugu Desam and the Left parties have urged Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to direct the State government to enhance the input subsidy to farmers and ensure remunerative prices for agricultural produce by procuring foodgrains through government agencies.
A delegation of senior TDP and Left leaders called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Monday and complained to him about the fascist methods' of the government to suppress the democratic agitation launched by TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu by using the police force at its command to shift him to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences. In their memorandum to the Governor, they complained that Mr.
Naidu's followers, including MLAs and MLCs were beaten up, even as his assertion that his health was stable and he would go ahead with the fast went unheeded.
