Member of the Legislative Council Chukka Ramaiah said that seven members working under the Progressive Democratic Front put up a brave fight to save the education and health sectors from policies thrust upon by market forces.

Talking to reports on Monday, he said that the market forces were after these two sectors which produced great business opportunities since education and health was everybody's requirement.The PDF members put up an uncompromising fight as commercialisation of the health and education would deprive the poor of their basic rights.

They also opposed the joint farming proposal which would create landlords once again. He described the graduates as the intellectual towers in society who were the first people to notice the changes and alert the society. He wanted them to show the way.
