The leader of opposition has refused to end the fast till the government accepts his demands. The Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu's protest fast entered fifth day, on Tuesday. The former Chief Minister's health condition deteriorated further. After examining, Naidu's personal doctor Somaraju told the reporters that his health condition worsened, and was not ready to take even fluids.
The doctor added that it's important for Naidu to consume at least liquids otherwise his health condition would further deteriorate. Hospital sources reported that a six-member team of expert doctors from NIMS is constantly monitoring the Leader of Opposition.
On the other hand, State secretaries of CPI and CPM, K Narayana and B V Raghavulu, visited NIMS and interacted with Mr. Naidu. Film actor Murali Mohan and other leaders too called on Naidu but doctors asked visitors not to go close to Naidu since he has caught cold and is suffering from an infection.
The TDP and the Left parties continued their protests for the second day on Tuesday. The Opposition leader is demanding the government declare the crop loss in recent rains a national calamity, pay a compensation of Rs.10,000 per acre for food crop and Rs.15,000 for commercial crop damaged in the rains. Terming the package announced by the government as meagre, the TDP chief on last Friday launched the indefinite fast.
