NIMS director Dr Ramesh said Naidu's declining health meant it was not safe for him to continue the fast. Explaining that the percentage of electrolyte in Naidus system is decreasing, he said the former CM is continuing to refuse food. He said the team of doctors are performing tests on Naidu once in six hours and are monitoring his health.

A steady stream of leaders visited NIMS to enquire on Naidus health, but hospital authorities stopped them from meeting Naidu fearing that he may pick up infections. Later in the day court granted permission to feed Naidu forcefully over his deteriorating health condition.
