Doctors defend shifting of Naidu

The team of medical experts has defended their move to shift Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu to intensive care unit claiming that the decision was based on the circumstances that warranted immediate medical intervention.
Mr. Naidu's shifting, however, was not a smooth affair as TDP leaders, his wife, Bhuvaneswari and son N. Lokesh resisted the move. The Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences premises was abuzz with talk that there would be some major development towards the evening after the news that the all-party meeting presided by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy failed to break the deadlock.
The doctors allowed only Ms. Bhuvaneswari and Mr. Lokesh into the ICU after the shifting was complete. The TDP president is understood to have refused the doctors' request to allow administration of intravenous fluids, but gave up following the pressure mounted by the expert team.
