T Congress leaders threatening to resign

The State Government appears to be heading for a fresh crisis, with Congress MPs, ministers and legislators from Telangana, threatening to resign, if the Srikrishna Committee does not recommend a separate state for the region. The threat of mass resignation comes a day after the TRS offered to merge with the Congress, if a separate state is formed.
Telangana leaders from the ruling party, on Sunday issued an ultimatum to the state government, demanding withdrawal of all cases registered against agitators in the region. It was reported that, the Congress leaders from the region, met in the Hyderabad to chalk out their strategy on the separate statehood demand.
They asked the UPA government at the Centre to table a bill in parliament during the budget session for the formation of a separate state. On other hand, State ministers Shankar Rao and Jana Reddy offered to resign if a separate state was not announced on Dec 31.
