India Reserve battalion in Prakasam: Rosaiah

Chief Minister K. Rosaiah on Sunday announced locating a India Reserve battalion in Prakasam district with Central funding to tackle any emergency law and order situation. After reviewing the developmental issues in the district with Public Representatives and officials, he told reporters here that he had asked the district administration to speed up the process for land acquisition for the IR battalion with a strength of over 1,000 constables. Both the Centre and the State shared equally the cost of setting up IR battalion for counter-insurgency and anti-terror operations, according to official sources. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a Rs. 40 lakh protected drinking water project at Vijayanagar colony.
